Bluetooth headphones can get all wonky sometimes. It’s not their fault as much as it’s the problem of the underlying technology. Bluetooth audio acts up every once in a while. And knowing how to reset your Bluetooth device, including Bluetooth headphones, can come in handy and potentially save the day.
With that being said, some brands do create more problems than others. And if you’re stuck with the wrong brand, resetting your headphone will be a routine task.
So, how to reset your Bluetooth headphones to get them to work again?
Let’s see.
Before you reset
A hard reset is not the only solution every time your Bluetooth headphones start acting up. Neither is getting a new pair of headphones. Sometimes, the problem can be as simple as the pairing being faulty. A device reboot or simply waiting a while can sort it out. Try restarting Bluetooth on both, the source device and the headphone.
A reset is fairly easy and safe. Once you’ve performed a reset, the headphone will resume working as intended. However, the key to good troubleshooting is patience. Understand that if a Bluetooth headphone isn’t working properly, it’s not broken. A malfunction as such is pretty common and normal with Bluetooth audio devices.
What problems will a Bluetooth headphone reset fix?
Doing a factory reset on the headphone can easily sort out several common problems with Bluetooth headphones.
Here are some of them:
- Sound output has static or noise.
- The headphone isn’t connecting to the smartphone or PC.
- Although a connection is shown as made, the device isn’t really connected and sound isn’t coming out of the headphones.
- Your device cannot find the headphones even after multiple searches.
- The device can find the headphone, but cannot successfully pair with them.
With that out of the way, let’s see how to reset your Bluetooth headphones when they start acting up and don’t connect.
