Can RTX 2060 run all games?
Without a shred of doubt, yes. The RTX 2060 can run all games including the most modern, cutting-edge ray tracing-enabled games such as Doom Eternal and Cyberpunk 2077.
Out of the popular most demanding games, the RTX 2060 can run most without any major issues. In certain games you might face FPS drops due to a lack of optimization.
Is the RTX 2060 overkill for Full HD gaming?
Not necessarily overkill, but yes, you can expect north of 60 FPS on most titles. Note that the framerate heavily depends on what game you’re playing and at which settings. For example, the RTX 2060 will not give you 60+ FPS on very demanding games with ray tracing on.
For 1080p gaming, however, you can be sure that most games will run above 60 FPS smoothly, especially with a few settings turned low or with ray tracing off.
It’s better than the GTX 1660 Super (30% faster for 1440p gaming) and the entire GTX lineage if you want ray tracing on. The price/performance ratio for 1080p gaming at 60 FPS is better in 1660 Super, however.
Is the RTX 2060 enough for 144Hz gaming?
Yes. RTX 2060 can easily hit 144 FPS to make use of a 144Hz refresh rate of your gaming monitor. Again, it depends largely on what game you’re playing and at which settings.
It’s definitely not the best card for 1440p gaming at 100+ FPS. Go with the Nvidia 30-series or the AMD 6000 series for that.

Who should buy the Nvidia RTX 2060?
People who:
- Want 1080p gaming exclusively;
- Mostly can do without ray tracing;
- Are satisfied with 60-ish FPS;
- Cannot purchase a 30-series GPU due to budget reasons or availability reasons;
- Don’t have a monitor with an extreme refresh rate (like 144Hz or 240Hz);
- Are upgrading from a non-Ti GTX card or an older AMD card;
Can go for the RTX 2060 without any fears. If you fall in that category – go for it. If you have slightly higher requirements can do with an RTX 2070. For 4K gaming at 60 FPS, RTX 2060 is not the one.
